Meet The Team: Todd Barron

Todd, We cannot thank you enough for the assistance you gave us in obtaining our mortgage. Your fine reputation speaks volumes regarding your professionalism, knowledge, and sincere efforts on behalf of your clients. Your team is as pleasant, competent and thorough as their leader, and we want to offer a sincere thank you to each member. As we begin a new chapter of our lives in our beautiful new Northampton home, we’d be remiss if we didn’t take a moment to show our appreciation to one who was instrumental in rescuing us from a mortgage miasma.
— Sincerely, Suzanne & Norman

About Todd

Todd Barron is native of the Pioneer Valley who returned after college with his wife Andrea to raise a family and work in the mortgage business. Todd met Andrea in Boston where they both were working after he graduated from Brandeis University.

Todd first started to work in Real Estate while in the Boston area. His first venture in Western MA was with his brother when they opened a Real Estate office in Pittsfield in 1986. While working in this agency, Todd met a World War II Marine veteran who had just opened up a new mortgage business. Todd joined his company in 1987 and began his long-term commitment to help home buyers find mortgage financing that was truly  in their best interests.

For the first 15 years Todd originated loans and managed mortgage offices in Chicopee, West Springfield and Northampton for Statewide Funding and Source One Mortgage. He became recognized as a top producer and leader in the Western MA mortgage industry. In early 2002, Todd and a co-manager founded Applied Mortgage Services Corp. Todd successfully ran Applied Mortgage Services independently until 2015 when he merged the company with Merrimack Mortgage, an established New England mortgage banking company. Soon after the merger, HarborOne Bank a long-established bank in Brocton, MA purchased Merrimack Mortgage and established HarborOne Mortgage Company, LLC. Todd and his Applied Mortgage team became a branch of HarborOne Mortgage.

Todd and his daughter Lindsay Barron LaBonte continue to lead their Applied Mortgage Team with the steadfast commitment to serving the best interests of all of our customers. Through the HarborOne Mortgage Company, they are able to offer a full array of mortgage options, including MA Housing’s First Time Home Buyer’s , Federal Housing Administration, VA , Conventional, Renovation, New Construction and Home Equity. And they are always available to help with mortgage loan preapprovals.

Todd and Lindsay and their team have helped thousands of people in the Pioneer Valley over the past 30 years to achieve their dream of owning a home. Todd is thankful to all of his customers and the many realtors, attorneys, builders and other real estate, insurance and financial services professionals that have work tirelessly to help these customers.

Todd continues to serve the community as a volunteer and/or donor with many local human service organizations including Big Brother Big Sisters, Amherst Boys and Girls Club, Amherst Hurricane supporters, Easthampton Community Center, Northampton High School Athletics, Northampton Little League, Friends of the Homeless, Dollars for Scholars, Look Park, Safe Passage, Northampton Educational Fund, The Food Bank, The Northampton Jazz Festival, Habitat for Humanity and The United Way.  He is a long term member of the Amherst, Easthampton and Northampton Chambers of Commerce and The Pioneer Valley Realtors Association.

What People Are Saying

“We were referred to Todd by our realtor and we are so grateful! We had LOTS of questions and he took the time to explain all of our financing options in great detail which made us feel not only informed but extremely comfortable in our decision.”

— Liliana K.

“I have one of those weird corner-case situations that was not going to involve a straightforward mortgage application. Too many complexities. I was referred to Todd Barron by a friend whose life is almost as complex as mine has been.

Yesterday, I had a rock-my-socks conversation with Todd Barron and Nicole Laurie. They were extremely well-informed yet took time and care to make sure I didn't get overwhelmed; they responded naturally and appropriately to my accommodation cues (weird disability too) without any fuss; they were sweet, interesting, helpful, attentive, and kind; and, despite my rather low income bracket and annoying complexities, were entirely welcoming, unfailingly kind, smart, sane, and supportive.

Todd pulled rabbits out of his hat, giving me several rational, feasible onward strategies and the context to understand them. I look forward to getting back in touch when we have made our decision about how to go forward.

I was very impressed by the sweet professionalism I found at every turn, from our first email exchanges to my arrival (and a nice hot cup of green tea!) to our very info-rich conversation to the thoughtfulness of providing branded lip balm (alongside the pens) in the skin-desiccating armpit of winter! Now *that* is real customer care :)

I recommend them as highly as possible.”
